King's Pie (Galette des Rois)
The King's Pie (La Galette des Rois) is a traditional Christmas French pastry with a surprise hidden inside to celebrate around Christmas time and January. The hand crafted puff pastry contains thick almond based filling to make this pastry purely delicious. People eat it in early January in France to celebrate Epiphany and extend throughout the month.
Note: This pie must be ordered min. 48 hours before pick-up at our Granville Island location.
Baking Instructions:
- For fresh Raw Pies : Bake at 420 degrees for 10 minutes first and then at 375 degrees for another 25 minutes or until golden brown.
- For Frozen Raw Pies: Bake from Frozen, Bake at 420 degrees for 10 minutes and then at 375 degrees for another 30 to 35 minutes or until golden brown.
Reheating Instructions:
- For Baked Pies: Bake at 250 degrees for 20-25 minutes or until the middle of the pie is warm and the top crust is crispy.
